At Bohunt Horsham we are not just a school, we are a community and our community system is an integral part of every school day. Launched in 2024, we have four communities, each with its own Heads of Community and Ambassadors. Their tasks are to motivate and excite the students and play a full and active part in the inter-communities competitions.
Our four communities are:

Every student and member of staff belongs to a community. By being a member of the community family, we foster the small school within a school feel and students and staff are encouraged to show team spirit.
At the very heart of our communities are our 4 community pillars of ‘compassion, unity, resilience and celebration’ and this stretches the full length of our school from reception to year 11.
| Compassion: Respect differences Encourage empathy Consider our words and actions Creating Inclusivity Promote acceptance Prepare for the future Take responsibility Appreciate the environment Give back Consider the needs of our local community | Unity: Ask questions Seek help when needed Lean on our community for support Team players Work together to achieve a shared goal Inspire others Encourage personal growth Mentor each other Empower positive change |
| Resilience: Participate fully in school Do not opt-out Opt-in, even to things we enjoy less Overcome obstacles Welcome mistakes Are not afraid of failure Willing to learn Take responsibility for our learning Eager to expand our knowledge Try new things Take pride in all that we do | Celebration: Strive for success Participate Compete Champion others Uphold our community’s reputation Celebrate others successes Celebrate the whole school community Craftwork that will make our community proud Work hard within the classroom and outside the classroom. |
Within each community, we have:
And by 2030 we will also have:
“Wherever your strengths or talents lie, Your time to shine for your community will come…”
There are many community events throughout the year from all areas and across all phases of Bohunt Horsham. This blend ensures that everyone has the opportunity to represent their community in something that they enjoy or are good at. Community events include sporting activities, art competitions, cookery contests and various other activities designed and organised by our staff and students.
All students have the opportunity to earn community ERA points for their communities. Points are awarded for things such as good work, community spirit and competition participation.
