Bohunt Horsham GCSE Results 2026

Bohunt Horsham celebrates GCSE results as founding cohort reaches major milestone

Students who began secondary school during the disruption of the pandemic and in Bohunt Horsham’s temporary home are today celebrating their GCSE results, marking an important milestone as they prepare to embark on the next stage of their education journey.

The 2026 cohort was the last at the School to start their secondary schooling at the temporary school on Hurst Road while the purpose-built school was being constructed on the Mowbray development. This cohort also started their Year 7 journey during COVID with bubbles, masking and testing and at least a third of the year group joined ‘in year’ from other schools.

Despite all of this disruption, students are celebrating a wide range of achievements, with the vast majority securing passes in both English and maths. The cohort has demonstrated resilience, commitment and determination throughout their time at the school. Their achievements reflect Bohunt Horsham’s ambition to secure the strongest possible academic outcomes whilst ensuring every young person is prepared for life beyond school.

There were some exceptional individual performances across the cohort.

  • Dillan and Oisin each achieved nine grade 9s, across subjects including English, maths, sciences, humanities and languages.
  • Amelia and Jonty each secured eight grade 9s.
  • Jesse achieved seven grade 9s alongside making a significant contribution to school life through the Student Council, where he has helped to bring about positive changes on behalf of fellow students.

A particularly special achievement is that of Georgia. Georgia has overcome substantial obstacles throughout her secondary school journey, yet has continued to show exceptional determination and maintained excellent focus on her education despite the challenges she has faced. She achieved grade 9s in maths, biology and statistics, alongside a strong set of results across her other subjects. Her resilience, commitment and strength of character make these achievements especially significant, and everyone at Bohunt Horsham is immensely proud of her.

The celebrations come just a week after members of Bohunt Horsham’s founding cohort received their A-level results, with three securing places at Oxford or Cambridge. Among them is Founding Bohunt Horsham student Ella, who will study psychology at the University of Cambridge after completing her A-levels.

These results are a powerful reflection of Bohunt Education Trust’s belief in ‘Every Child, Same Chance’: combining the highest expectations with high support, exceptional teaching and a culture in which students are encouraged to enjoy, respect and achieve. They also demonstrate the School’s commitment to developing confident, resilient young people who are ready to become game-changers in the next stage of their lives.

Georgette Ayling, Headteacher at Bohunt Horsham, said:

“We are incredibly proud of our students and all that they have achieved. Today is the culmination of a huge amount of hard work, determination and commitment, and it is a real privilege to celebrate with them and their families.

“There are some exceptional academic performances within this year’s results, including students achieving grade 9s across an extraordinary breadth of subjects. But results day is also about recognising the individual journey behind every set of grades. Georgia’s achievements are a wonderful example of that. She has shown tremendous resilience throughout her secondary journey and we are certainly very proud of her.

“Results day is also about looking ahead. I am excited to see our students take their next steps and I know they have so much to look forward to. I would like to thank our staff, families and the wider school community for everything they have done to support our young people throughout their time with us.”

Neil Strowger, Trust Leader at BET, said:

“I am immensely proud of the efforts made by students across our schools. These GCSE results are testament to their hard work, dedication and resilience. Our commitment to ensuring the achievement of every student has led to these outcomes, which reflect the game-changing abilities of our students and staff and the excellence we strive for across BET.”
