At Bohunt Horsham we seek to inspire and motivate our students along their own path to the vast array of career pathways and future education options that are available to them. Our aim is to make sure that all young people get a programme of advice and guidance that is stable, structured and delivered by individuals with the right skills and experience.

Our programme is aligned with the Government’s targets as well as the Gatsby Charitable Foundation Benchmarks, to give our students a broad and high-quality experience which fits the needs and interests of every individual. We regularly review our careers provision through Compass. This is an online self-evaluation tool for schools to use to assess how their careers support compares against the Gatsby Benchmarks and the national average.

We are fortunate to have close partnerships with organisations such as The Careers and Enterprise Company Careers Hub and Compass+ among other careers programmes and stakeholders. This is in addition to partnerships with fellow BET schools, who we collaborate closely with to create the best possible outcomes for our students.

For more information, or if you would like to offer your services or support to the careers and guidance programme at Bohunt Horsham, please contact our Careers Lead, Nicole Jones – careers@bohunthorsham.com

Our students are entitled to and able to access a Careers Education, Information, Advice and Guidance (CEIAG) programme that:

  • Provides high quality independent careers advice which inspires, motivates and meets the needs of each individual in order to fulfill their potential. The guidance given will ensure that students are aware of academic, technical and vocational routes available at each transition point.
  • Contributes to the raising of student achievements by encouraging them to develop high aspirations and consider a broad and ambitious range of careers whilst also encouraging them to see career development as a life-long process
  • Provides opportunities throughout KS3 and KS4 for students to work in meaningful partnerships with employers, training providers, local colleges and others to support their personal development and next steps and the world of work
  • Develops enterprise and employability skills including skills for self-employment, leadership and teamwork
  • Develops students’ skills and knowledge of careers including career management skills and knowledge of the local labour market (LMI);
  • Supports inclusion, challenge stereotyping and promote equality of opportunity
  • Supports social mobility by improving opportunities for all students, especially those from disadvantaged backgrounds and those with special educational needs and disabilities
