Our caterers, Accent Catering, offer a variety of food and drinks for purchase during break and lunchtime. We operate a cashless system which allows for quicker serving times and shorter queues. At the beginning of the school year, every student will have their fingerprint scanned by our biometrics payment system which will allow them to make purchases at the till. All account top-ups are made via the School Gateway app so it is vital that our families have this set up as we are unable to take cash payments or top up on behalf of students.
Meat and vegetarian options are available as standard. However, if you have specific allergies or dietary requirements e.g. gluten-free, vegan etc the canteen can often provide a suitable meal option if they are made aware in advance that your child will be buying food in school.
If your child is eligible for free school meals they will be allocated a daily allowance to spend on food and snacks each day. This allowance is not valid to spend on drinks, however you can top up your child’s canteen account to allow them to purchase drinks and additional food beyond their free school meals allowance.
Finger Biometrics
We are now using finger biometrics which has improved our canteen efficiency, benefiting both staff and students. If your child is not yet registered, please email enquiries@bohunthorsham.com
